Biography
Work Experience:
Mordecai has been a partner at Gill, Godlonton and Gerrans since 1991 and specialises in corporate and commercial law, as well as labour law and commercial litigation. He is often called upon to act as an Arbitrator in labour and commercial disputes. Mordecai is recognised as a Leading Lawyer (Band 3) by Chambers Global.
Prior to joining Gill, Godlonton and Gerrans he had been in a partnership in the Bulawayo Law Firm, Lazarus and Sarif.
Mordecai holds BL and LLB (Hons) degrees from the University of Zimbabwe and is a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe as well as the International Bar Association.
Mordecai also sits on the Board of various companies in Zimbabwe, both listed and unlisted and until recently sat on the Board of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
In 1995 Mordecai was fortunate to be accepted as International Counsel by a large Syracuse, New York Law Firm of Mckenzie. He spent most of his time giving advice on international investment generally and in relation to Sub-Saharan Africa.
