BACKGROUND
The firm was established in 2004 by its present senior partner, Gerald Nqobile Mlotshwa. Over the years, the firm has grown into one of the larger law firms in Zimbabwe, taking also into account the value of transactions it handles in any given year. Certainly, its brand, Titan Law, is the most recognized brand on the market.
The practice is a full practice law firm with a strong bias toward the natural resources, corporate and financial services sectors. It is a market leader in land reform and investment in agriculture.
Mining and property law are also strong practice areas for the firm, as is high stakes litigation and advice in Zimbabwe’s corporate boardrooms. Titan Law is well respected in the market place for formulating and implementing legal strategies in the resolution of corporate and commercial transactions and disputes.
The firm has a second office in the city of Bulawayo, and wholly owns Titan Legal Inc, a Seychelles pan-African corporate advisory firm domiciled in Mauritius. Titan Law has close correspondent relationships with leading law firms in South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States.

Work Experience:
After graduating from the University of Pretoria, Nellie joined Scanlen and Holderness as an associate in January 2004. In July 2008 she became the third female to be appointed as partner since the inception of Scanlen and Holderness. Over the years she has specialised in Corporate and Commercial law, her main practise areas being in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, commercial litigation and registration of intellectual property.
Nellie is registered as a conveyancer, an Administrator registered with the Estate Administration Council of Zimbabwe and is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). She presently serves as a Non-Executive Board Member of Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe and nominees P/L and MMC Stockbrokers P/L.
Nellie is passionate about the firm’s socio‐corporate responsibilities and has partnered with corporate to provide legal assistsance to low income earning households.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Has handled corporate legal work for various companies such as the African Banking Corporaon (ABC), Zimbabwe Building Society (ZBS), National Investment Trust (Zimbabwe), Benau AS (Denmark) a joint venture agreement for the incorporation of Benau Zimbabwe, has also been co-legal advisor in the agreement between SAUR SERVICE (UK) and Gweru City Council for the Manyuchi Dam Electrification Project funded by EDF; acted as co-legal advisor to Clifford Chance legal practitioners(UK) on the proposed privatisation of the Post and Telecommunications Corporation in Zimbabwe; was also lead counsel in the proposed privatisation of Motec Holdings until the government decided to put privatisation projects on hold: acted as counsel for Namibia Power Corporation for a loan agreement with Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA Holdings); and presented a paper on privatisation deals in the SADC region at the 2008 annual conference of the SADC lawyers Association held in Gaborone, Botswana.
