Magistrates Court Civil Jurisdiction Monetary Limits Rules 2009

IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, in terms of section 73 of the Magistrates Court Act [Chapter 7:10], has made the following rules:—

  1. Title

These rules may be cited as the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Monetary Limits) Rules, 2008.

2.     Civil jurisdiction of the magistrate court

The amounts prescribed for the purposes of the provisions of the Act described in the first and second columns of the Schedule shall be the. amounts specified opposite thereto in the third column.

3.      Repeal

The Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Monetary Limits) Rules, 2008, published in Statutory Instrument 142 of 2008, are repealed.
